I like everything about this one, the perspective, the tones. It gives the church a very good sense of character, like it's alive...if that makes much sense. ^^;

I think including the railings to the right gives you a real perspective of just how enormous that building is. Otherwise you'd have little frame of reference. It instantly shows you the size in comparison to the environmental factors around it.

I'm of the opinion that it hasn't worked either Pete, for two reasons:

The angle of the cathedral is wrong in that it's too front-heavy without showing just how deep the building is.

Secondly, you've pushed the building over to the left (in order to get the railings in?) and I don't feel there's a balance there.

B&W HDR works very well though :)

Happy New Year!

Looks good to me Pete. I know a few people who might have tried to correct the converging verticals (I know someone who hated them so much that he recent bought a Canon Tilt and Shift lens!), but I like the perspective of this shot as it is.

"I’m not 100% sure on this one."

No, I think you're right, it is the Anglican Cathedral ;-)

I think maybe the walls of the cathedral are too light. The real thing is a deep red sandstone but from this you may think its a much lighter stoneface.
I do like this angle and the sky though.
