You really shouldn’t stand down wind of a Chinese firecracker machine. You’re instantly covered in red snow and you can’t breathe. Makes for an interesting photo though.

In other news the Arena auction went well. My pic sold which is good. Only £5 over the reserve. I really wanted to see lots of bidding and crazyness. Who wouldn’t, the auctioneer is great fun to watch. You can see when he gets desperate because he tries to sell the frame. “Wow, look at this!! Staples. Amazing!” He’s not being sarcastic either. You can see how mine went on Vimeo. Shoulda gone with a Superlambanana pic if only not to annoy the auctioneer, haha. He really hated La Machine. D’oh.

  • Now this one's a cracker mate :-) Blew me away!
  • Hi there, great site with great pictures!
  • Excellent shot.
  • well done, mate - that's an excellent shot
  • Wow really an incredible shot!
I like the colors and this "fog" of the boom!
  • Wow, that is some action, great shot!
  • Note for my own future reference: Stand downwind of the next Chinese firecracker machine I happen across. :)
  • Powerful shot!
  • This is very nice. It captures the drama of the moment well. Think I saw you emerging from a cloud of smoke looking a bit shell shocked which wouldn't be surprising as it was loud enough from behind the barriers.
  • Good photo. It shows clearly how... sudden was the moment :D

    It looks risky :P
  • Great shot. You can feel the drama...
  • It looks dangerous but worth it.
    Really great moment
  • Nice shot!
